The upper eyelid surgery literally brightened up Mrs. Alena's eyes

How upper eyelid surgery works

Blepharoplasty takes approximately 45 minutes and is performed under local anesthesia. You are awake the entire time, you can communicate with the doctor, but you do not experience any pain. The advantage is the minimal strain on the body, unlike general anaesthesia, and the ability to go home immediately after the procedure. In upper eyelid surgery, excess skin is removed, usually 10 to 20 millimetres wide, but also fatty sacs under the circular eye muscle that can cause swelling of the upper eyelids. After the surgery, only a small, inconspicuous scar remains, which is discreetly placed in the eye crease. Blepharoplasty can be combined with lower eyelid reshaping or another procedure, such as a facelift.
