Kristýna's transformation: nose surgery got rid of her complexes and gave her confidence

For most of her life, Christina has struggled with low self-esteem caused by bullying and teasing because of her larger nose. Until adulthood, she did not feel pretty because of her appearance and did not like to be photographed. She had been thinking about a rhinoplasty procedure for some time, but was concerned about both the pain and how she would look. She was only encouraged by a friend who recommended MEDICOM Clinic. "When I saw the pictures of the clients, I said to myself that I wanted to make the change too," Christina shares that decisive moment.

Aesthetics and better breathing

Rhinoplasty can address both cosmetic and functional issues. The nose has three dimensions - height, length and width. There are many types and shapes of noses, and the various deformities and deviations can be both congenital and acquired through trauma or post-surgical conditions. The optimal age for surgery is between 18 and 35-40 years, with no clearly defined upper age limit. However, the result depends on sufficient elasticity of the skin of the nose and its surroundings.

Kristýna chose MUDr. Petr Ondrejka, a plastic surgeon at MEDICOM Clinic in Prague, for the procedure.

"The client came to the consultation with a wish to adjust the shape and size of her nose, which was disproportionately large and wide for her face. Step by step we discussed the surgical procedure and the expected result. The surgery and subsequent treatment were completely uneventful and at the follow-up appointment the client was very happy with the change. It should be remembered that nose surgery is a very delicate procedure. Both the experience of the surgeon and the realistic expectations of the client are needed," described MUDr. Peter Ondrejka.

Christina was initially worried: "Dr. Ondrejka was kind and professional. He patiently explained everything during the consultation and reassured me that I didn't have to worry about pain. To be honest, I expected it to be much worse after the procedure. The only unpleasant thing was that I couldn't breathe through my nose." Mild pain after rhinoplasty is usually well tolerated by clients. If necessary, common postoperative pain medications can be used. Kristýna was able to return to work after the procedure after only two weeks of home treatment and after Dr. Ondrejka removed her cast.

As a new man

Her friends and family noticed the natural change in her nose and confirmed that it fit her face perfectly. Christine began to like herself and gained a confidence she had never experienced before.

In addition to her self-confidence, the plastic surgery also helped her overcome her childhood trauma of facing teasing from her peers because of her nose. She would tell those considering a similar transformation that life can fundamentally change for the better and everyone deserves to feel good about their bodies.
